Kate Harvey - Chief Executive
Kate has a background in working with adults and children with learning disability. She has also worked as a trainer and a counsellor. She has worked within the voluntary sector for the majority of her working life and with Onside since 1996. Kate joined the organisation because of her strong commitment to creating a genuinely fairer and more equitable society. She continues to be motivated and enthused by the real difference to individual lives that the organisation can make and the commitment and energy of all those involved with Onside. She believes that a key factor in the success of Onside is that it is an organisation that reflects its values and beliefs through both its external work and how it works internally with an empowering, supportive and respectful ethos at its heart .
Lin Clarke - Advocacy Services Manager
Lin joined Onside in January 2005 as the advocacy mental health development worker and direct advocate. Previously she worked with young people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders and as a floating support worker for a housing charity in Gloucester. She took on a management role in November 2009 and currently manages the generic advocacy service and the two statutory services IMHA and IMCA .
Lesley McKay - Operations Manager
Lesley has a broad management background and experience gained working in a number of sectors including catering, research and financial services. She has worked in the voluntary sector since 1997 and first became involved with Onside as a volunteer advocate and Trustee. She is passionate about working with Onside because of the difference the Organisation makes to people’s lives and to work with a group of equally passionate and committed staff and volunteers .
Elizabeth Savory - Project & Development Manager
Elizabeth has worked in a variety of fundraising capacities, whether raising funds for her own organisation or allocating and managing funds awarded to others. She has managed projects across a variety of sectors including Local Authority, Education and regional strategic bodies. Elizabeth joined Onside in 2004 and has held a number of roles; a key part of her current work is monitoring and evaluating project outputs and outcomes against contracts .
Emma Thompson - HR Manager
Emma joined the team at Onside in 2010 having previously worked predominantly in the manufacturing sector. She has over 10 years generalist HR experience and in the short time she has been working with Onside, has been inspired by the values of the organisation, the genuine commitment and dedication of the whole team in delivering a remarkable service .
Tom Travers - Finance Manager
Tom trained as a Chartered Accountant in the private sector before working in International Development both overseas and in London including with Save the Children.He has long experience of working as a Finance Director in the NHS and more recently with a return to the charity sector for its inspirational values.Since the start of 2012, he has been combining his existing work in Oxford with this new and exciting role at Onside .
