Swap and Share Focus on Families Freelance Opportunity

Onside has been successful in securing funding from Awards for All to support vulnerable families in Malvern with a particular focus on the Pickersleigh ward. We aim to pilot a new approach to reaching and helping those who are most vulnerable using a timebanking model. The project aims to work with health professionals including GPs, midwives, and health visitors, who will 'prescribe' engagement in the time bank for vulnerable families.  We will then work with the families to identify how we can support them, and encourage wider engagement with the community. The project will build on our existing Timebanking project in Malvern where members from the local community swap skills and time for mutual benefit.

We are seeking an experienced facilitator to deliver the project on a freelance basis over a 12 month period.

Please see Expression of Interest details below or contact Hilary Myers at Onside for more information - Tel: 01905 27525 or Email: hilary.myers@onside-advocacy.org.uk

Voluntary Treasurer

Do you believe in people and their potential?  Would you be inspired by the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged adults?  Onside Independent Advocacy is looking for a new Treasurer to join the Board and strengthen our expertise in promoting and managing what is an increasingly complex business.

About Onside

Onside was established 22 years ago and has grown steadily to become a well respected medium-sized local charity.  We currently support and help change the lives of over 3,000 adults and their families across Worcestershire and Herefordshire every year; people who face disadvantage as a result of issues such as disability, ill health and older age.  We provide advocacy, support and mentoring to enable vulnerable and isolated adults to live better lives; be independent, feel included and part of their local community.

Vacancy background

We have a vacancy for the position of Treasurer; someone with an appropriate financial background and experience.  You will be joining a well-established and effective trustee team and will also be working with the senior management team and finance department.  Key aspects of the role are outlined in the attached duties.

We are working in challenging times and in a dynamic marketplace with ever-tighter budgets and changes to traditional sources of funding.  As a result, Onside is developing not-for-profit commercial initiatives to generate independent and sustainable income streams.  Ideally, we are looking for a Treasurer with a background who, in addition to other trustee duties, can bring skills and experience to help us achieve our goals.

Why join us?

We are biased!  We think this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a passionate, friendly and motivated charity which is making a real difference to local lives right now.  You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own skills and contribute to Onside’s exceptional work.  You, too, need to be passionate about the work that we do and have the time to work with and support the organisation.

Interested?

If you are interested in learning more, please get in touch and we can arrange an initial discussion.
