LifeLinks aims to assist people with mild to moderate learning disabilities to become genuinely involved in education, leisure and social opportunities.
There is a recognition that people with learning disabilities have very few links and opportunities for involvement within their communities. As a result people often find themselves isolated and excluded from mainstream activities. Worcestershire LifeLinks aims to address this in a positive way by helping people gain access to activities. Support is provided on a one-to-one basis by an enabler who will identify aims with the person they are supporting and help them achieve these aims.
LifeLinks has also developed a number of projects aimed at helping people with learning disabilities gain skills and become more confident in using community facilities. These include:
• LifeLinks to Learning
• Joint Information Project with Worcester City Council Cultural Services
• Arts Project
