Independent Advocacy in Residential and Day Care Settings – working with you to provide truly person centred care.
ONSIDE provides independent advocacy support within a range of private care services across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
The valuable service provides an external, independent perspective that ensures that residential and day care services remain outward looking, transparent and responsive and individuals have access to external support to support them in expressing their views and wishes. From the point of view of providers it is a very powerful way of demonstrating the quality of your service and your commitment to person centred care.
Offering independent advocacy means that people being supported within care services:
- Are able to have a voice in decisions affecting their lives
- Can speak up when they are not happy
- Who do not have friends and family have an independent person to talk to and look out for them
ONSIDE can create a package of independent advocacy support to meet the particular needs of your service and the people you support. This could include a regular drop in at an agreed frequency and duration or a number of advocacy support hours on an annual basis. We currently work with services as diverse as residential support for adults with learning disabilities, transition services for people with autism, older people’s homes and residential schools.
