Lifestyle advisor service

 Joint Statement

The Lifestyle & Behaviour Change Service is coming to an end and therefore the service will close on 31 March 2024.

During the 4 years of operation, many people have received advice and support on living a healthy lifestyle. It has helped individuals make positive lifestyle changes across the county.

The Public Health team at Worcestershire County Council, NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICB, Onside Advocacy, Worcestershire Association of Carers and South Worcestershire Citizens Advice are working together closely to make sure current service users and those on waiting lists are supported.

  • Referrals to the service are now closed.
  • Current service users that can complete their programme before the end of the contract date will be provided with the applicable support.
  • Individuals currently on the waiting list will also be informed of upcoming changes and signposted to alternative support.

Health and wellbeing continues to be a priority for both Public Health and the ICB. There are several existing local groups and activities to support anyone looking to improve their health and wellbeing. Please visit Health and wellbeing | Worcestershire County Council for more information.

Healthy Worcestershire Programme

Worcestershire County Council is commissioning a new service to support adults to improve health and wellbeing. The new “Healthy Worcestershire” service will provide a wider range of health improvement opportunities all in one place.  This includes help to stay active, eat a healthy diet, make new social connections, and remain safe from crime. The new programme will be widely promoted and be hosted in local community venues. We will ensure that all partners are aware of how residents can access the new service.

Worcestershire County Council, the Integrated Care Board, Onside Advocacy, Worcestershire Association of Cares and South Worcestershire Citizens Advice would like to thank everyone who has supported and contributed to the service over the last few years. We would also like to thank Worcestershire Primary Care Networks for their participation in the delivery of the lifestyle service and look forward to working with them on the new Healthy Worcestershire programme, in each area of the county.
